Q1: Hi Aaron and welcome to Audiopraline! Happy New Year, have a very successful one! How were your holidays?

A: Hi guys! Thank you for having me! My holidays have only just started. I've just played at a series of New Years shows around Australia and now I am relaxing at home for a few weeks. That means a heap of time to focus on new productions and to start to get a flow of releases ready for 2012. There is still a back log from 2011 though!

Q2: How would you rate 2011 as a DJ and producer? Was it successful and how will you remember it?

A: 2011 was my biggest year to date. A lot of firsts, a few downs but definitely a lot of ups and if the ups outweigh the downs then I guess you could say it was successful. As a DJ, I played at festivals such as Creamfields and Stereosonic, which is now known around the world as Australia's largest dance music festival, as the Stereosonic tour attracted around 200,000 punters in 5 cities. Quite remarkable how far dance music has come in my country since its underground days. As far as club shows go, there were so many! In 2011 I played at 1-2 club shows a month, the majority of the time with international guests, but the one that stands out is probably Armada Night. If I had more time to think about that question I might change my answer! The most memorable however as a DJ, would have to be the Twelve festival in Malaysia. The venue was in the middle of a Formula 1 track, the production was great, the people were amazing and I can't wait to get back out to Malaysia this year. I was lucky enough to capture a lot of that set on video, some of which I haven't posted yet but I will do soon. That was probably one of the best sets I've played in recent times. I really love that place.

Production wise - 2011 defintely my biggest year. My biggest single releases were probably Room To Breathe & Distance, which gained some big support and I also had a few remixes which done well. In 2011 I remixed for friends of mine Grube & Hovsepian, Raneem & Erick Strong. I also had about another 5-7 remixes released throughout the year. I would have to say the most successful of all my remixes this year would have to be the "Payback" remix or the "Invisible" remix. Perhaps some of the biggest stuff I wrote in 2011 is yet to be released yet. Some you guys have heard and some you haven't - but you will soon :) The first day of 2012 I played a 2 hour set before Markus Schulz in Melbourne - if this gig is a reflection on what the rest of the year will be like then we're in for a big one!

Q3: Now the question every one of your fans is asking- when is the release date of Camshaft?

A: Haha, a question I get asked almost daily. I feel bad for the constant delay with this, but I promise it is a delay for a good reason. I can tell you that Camshaft will be released on a 3 track EP. One of the tracks on this EP is yet to be played outside my studio (and outside of the record labels office of course) but I believe it may be better than anything I've written in the past. I enjoyed every second writing this tune, I had this same feeling when I wrote Room To Breathe, so I hope it's going to be big! The great thing about this EP also, is that all 3 tracks are completely different to each other. Gee, I'd hate to talk it up if nobody likes it! Hehe ;) The EP will be released just before European summer.

Q4: What else can we expect from you during the following months and 2012 in general?

A: Apart from the EP which will be released early this year, I've recently finished a remix for Interstate Recordings, the same label which released my remix of Erick Strong's 'Payback'. It's another dark melodic trancer, very fun to write! This will be released in Febuary. I am also currently working with a couple of vocalists on some new tracks - something I have never done before. In 2012 I am also planning to have a few collabs finished. Work has already begun on a few of them and I'm already getting excited as to what the finished products will sound like! 2012 is already shaping up to be busier than 2011, which was my biggest year yet! With my new studio to be ready in 4 weeks time, I can't wait to get working.

Q5: Here on Audiopraline multi-genre artist are very much respected. You announced something about 126 bpm deep, melodic techno track from your alias. Apparently you enjoy experimenting and exploring new electronic sounds, right?

A: Yes that's correct. I have always been really influenced by producers such as Solee, Christian Smith, Moonbeam and others, but now I want to try and pursue something with this. I have just always loved those deep and moody sounds, the type that you won't play in a peak time set, but the type that you can listen to on repeat every day. It's the sort of stuff that makes your mind wonder. I am trying to create my own sound, which I guess can fit into the genre of 'melodic techno'. The first track I'm working on is pretty much as you described in the question, deep and melodic at 126bpm. I'm hoping to have a track or 2 done for this new alias by the middle of the year at the latest.

Q6: You have been invited to join one of the most admired progressive trance labels Coldharbour personally from Markus Schulz right? Would you please tell us something more about the team of Coldharbour Records and Markus himself?

A: Coldharbour Recordings is like one big family. From Markus, to his team, to the artists and to the loyal fans, everyone is quite familiar with each other and very supportive of each other. There is a lot of love in the Harbour. Personally, I am in regular contact with a lot of the artists on Coldharbour and we are all supportive of each others tunes, not because we are nice people, generally because the tunes are damn good! I can't really recall a set of mine from recent times that hasn't had a Coldharbour tune in it! The team at Coldharbour are a great bunch of people as well. Tim, Markus' PA is a busy man! He doubles up as an A&R for the label also. You guys will know Tim as one half of 'Grube & Hovsepian'. So more about Markus himself? Well Markus is a great guy! I caught up with a couple of times over New Years and had the pleasure of warming up for him on New Years Day at a club called Neverland in Melbourne. Markus is a fantastic DJ and always has time for fans after his shows. He has helped me out personally with advice on tracks I am working on, so I am pretty greatful for that!

Q7: What exactly drawn you from rock to electronic music? Which artists inspired you in the beginning?

A: Well this is a hard question to answer, as I never have really jumped off rock music onto electronic, as I do listen to both regularly. Definately listen to more electronic these days, but I still have an interest in rock music. I can't quite remember now what it was exactly that drew me from the bands I was playing in to producing 'trance' music, but I guess it was something I wanted to do for a little while but didn't quite know where to start. I was actually introduced to trance music by my father of all people! This was music from the late 90's / early 00's when the tracks which are now classed as classics, were being played in clubs for the first time. The CDs my father brought home inspired me and I wanted to make music just like this. Artists that inspired me from this time were guys like Mauro Picotto, Perry O'Neil, Cosmic Gate, Marco V, Push, oh I could go on forever!

Q8: Do you remember how your first mix ever came to life?

A: Well if were talking mixdowns, then yes I remember it and I'd rather forget it! I seriously had no idea what I was doing and I thought I was on the right track. Everything was self taught so I didn't really have any direction. I actually found an mp3 of the first tune I wrote while going through old CDs recently, its a 142bpm remix of Fatboy Slim's 'Star 69'. Yeah - it sounded like crap. First released tunes I had ever written though, you could probably find these on YouTube to listen to. These 3 were all released on Australian label 405 Recordings in 2009. Frantic was the first of the 3. You guys will laugh at this, but it was written in a tin shed, concrete floor, cheap computer speakers and Pioneer headphones. I'll be honest and tell you that I think it's a fluke on how that came out. All That's Left is my favourite of the 3 and I hope I can try and find time to rework it in the future.

Q9: Would you please tell us something more about Aaron, the man. What do you do in your spare time, what is your favorite book or movie, do you enjoy nature, sport or something else?

A: OK I'm a big sports guy, I love football, both the beautiful game and Australian rules football. The thing I love most is a get together with close friends, a BBQ and a few beers in the sun! This is a very typical Australian thing to do but I love it. I don't watch a lot of movies, generally because I just don't have much spare time, however comedy movies are my favourite, movies like Ali G Indahouse or The Anchorman are ones which I can watch and quote time and time again!

Q10: And finally Audiopraline`s sweetest question: what was your childhood dream, Aaron? Did it come true?

A: Well as a child I wanted to be a professional footballer so that never happened. In my late teens though I wanted to have releases on a major dance labels and perform outside of Australia. Both of these things have come true and I am very grateful for it.

Its been less than 5 months since Audiopraline first presented the new rising star on the electronic scene, Radion6. For this time, he managed to set his career going faster than light- two killer remixes, new radio show, first gig and a bunch of new tracks prepared and ready to go during the next months. Now Radion6 is back with this follow-up interview he gave just a week after his live performance in Bucharest, Romania, part of Sander van Doorn World Tour Eleve11. Lets see what this rapidly growing artist has to say to all of us!

Q: Hello Ruud and welcome again on Audiopraline! Last weekend you performed live in Bucharest on stage with Sander van Doorn, Snatt & Vix and Jetro. That was actually your first gig as Radion6, right? Would you, please tell us something more about it?

A: Hello Yana, Thank you for being back!

About the first Radion6 gig in Bucharest- it was amazing! Let me tell you about the experience. I arrived on Thursday to meet the organizers from Xteria. We went to the arena where the party would take place on Friday. We looked at the venue and it was great to see how professional the organizers put this stage and sound together. On Friday Xteria asked me to go with them to the airport to meet Sander van Doorn and it was really nice to see him again after 6 years!It was so special to have time to spend with him, knowing that he is such a busy guy at this moment! That showed to me how he really is as a person. Then we did the sound check and also the visuals with the light jockey of Sander van Doorn. He actually was my first light jockey when I was 16 in the club where I started my DJ career! This was so cool to meet Michael again. So after the sound check I went to the hotel to prepare for the show at the evening.

On the night of the event I had to play after Jetro. A very nice young talented guy who lives in Romania. I was really nervous before the start. My set was from 23.00 till 1.00, just before Sander van Doorn. My god, since I started the special intro film I made for this event and opened with my remix of Sunrise, the people went absolutely crazy. During the set I became more relaxed again! The energy and great atmosphere stayed during the whole set from the start to the end. What an audience this is in Bucharest! I loved my first gig, it was so nice! I think it's really special that people appreciate and value my work. It really motivates me to produce even more and better.

Thank you so much, Bucharest for the great experience during my first gig as Radion6. Also thanks to Xteria for the good care. Thanks Sander van Doorn and his management for letting me play on his world tour. Also the security guys for being so nice and cool and the great time while driving me through Bucharest! And of course, thank you Yana, as well for being on this first gig !

Q: The reactions on the social networks are incredible. How was the crowd in Bucharest?

A: Yes, it was not expected to be this big in the social media, so many films on YouTube, so many great reactions. The people were so nice to give me such a warm welcome! They are such an open crowd! So much energy and joy! When I came back after the performance for pictures and signing autographs they where all so kind! They are great!

Q: In your set you premiered your new track. When is it going to be released?

A: Yes I premiered my new track called BU-Tiful. The track will be released on the 12^th of December 2011. So it will be next month. Hopefully people will like the track as the crowd reacted on it in Bucharest.

Q: On 27^th Oct, 2011 was aired the first episode of your radio show Mind Sensation on AH.FM. What is the concept behind it and what makes it different from the other artists` radio shows and podcasts?

A: Yes, and I’m really proud to have my own slot on AH.FM. This is a great way to express the Radion6 identity. Of course I have the productions, people get to know Radion6, but new productions will be out every 2 months or maybe longer sometimes. This radio show is monthly so people can listen every 4^th Thursday of the month. In Mind Sensation I can show the identity of Radion6 in another dimension. I will select tracks from other artists which I like, so I can tell a story to my fans. I will do this during my gigs as well, but the show will have more relax music, cause it depends on where you listen it. Could be on your mp3 player or on the computer or one your big speakerset. So it will be bit different than my life performance. I really hope people like the way I select and mix the tracks for the radio show. Also I believe people will have an hour of Mind Sensation. That’s why I named my show this way!

Q: As a final, what would you say especially to the young people who follow you? A simple message or advice about life in general?

A: I would say to the young people, try to find what you really like to do with passion. If you really love what you do, you also need to believe in it and you will get what you want! Everything is possible! You only need to work hard for it! But as long as it is your passion you really don’t care if you have to work hard, it is hard to stop with it actually!

Every time I prepare and publish interview I do it with one and the same intention- to present someone special. This artist is not an exception at all. Top trance producer Bart Claessen is a man and artist with principles and everyone of his fans knows what Im talking about. With several absolutely smashing tracks released this year and going strong with his Playmo Radio, 2011 was more than successful for him.

Lets meet the man who fights for the music quality Mr. Bart Claessen!

Hi Bart and thanks for agreeing to this interview! First of all congratulations for reaching the #1 position on Beatport trance chart with Fantomah.* How do you feel about it?

A: Really glad how Fantomah did and is still doing. I went into a bit of a new direction with that one, felt really good to me, but it always needs some time to find out how the rest of the world thinks about that. Results have been fantastic really!

Q: Seems like you are at a full tilt production mode with the very successful recent releases Fantomah and Cryptanalysis with the Who.is project. Any other killing tracks coming up soon? Do you work on many tracks at the same time or you prefer to concentrate on one or two?
A: I usually work on one track at a time, although I must say that that recently changed. Currently I’m working on like 6 tracks at the same time, it just happened :) I get the most inspiration for new tracks when I’m working on stuff, feels so stupid nót to save all those new ideas, so for a change, I did.

Q: The Who.is project is a collaboration between you and Raz Nitzan. Once you shared in an interview that you both complement one another more than work together on the same parts of a track at the same time. Is this the perfect studio partner for you and how does Cryptanalysis came to life?
A: Perfect studio partner it is indeed :) Cryptanalysis kinda worked out the same way that We.Are did. We come together in the studio, talk about and listen to a lot of music that inspires us, and then start working on something. I control the knobs, he sits next to me, enjoys a tea and a sandwich, and has a lot of input. It works really smoothly.

Q: As far as I understand your personality you appear to be something like a tech trance scientist analyzing every track which catches you attention. Did you already discover the hands-up-in-the-air factor or its still a mystery for you?

A: Not sure where you caught that info, but yeah, I’m like a music analyzer indeed, I love to. The hands-up-in-the-air factor isn’t that much of a mystery really, especially these days, a clap on every beat and a tone going up, does it every time haha

Q: If Elf is the eleventh Bart Claessen original track which one is supposed to be coming out? Are you still counting?

A: No. I only counted when I needed a title and didn’t know any. Then I stopped :)

Q: What do you think about the remixes of your tracks? What does it feel like to see your own genuine production reworked, have you ever felt a bit jealous?

A: No, never felt jealous at all, why should I? It’s one of the greatest things to experience, when someone else presents his take on one of your own productions. Exciting.

Q: Are you that emotional and expressive in your personal life like you are in the studio? Do you have such a distinctive attitude and opinion about everything else you do?

A: Damn, feels like you really know me, or have paid good attention over the past years. I do have strong opinions indeed, about pretty much everything. I don’t usually try to show that too much online, don’t want to get too negative, don’t want to be rude to people, and don’t want to be too personal online. But sometimes I really can’t stand something, and there I go :)

Q: And by the way what else do you do besides making music?
A: Unfortunately, making music sometimes only seems a small part of the work. There is email, interviews (hehe), lots of promos to download and listen, websites, social media platforms, news items, promotion, youtube, contracts, administration, even more email, sigh... And next to all of that, I love to hang out with friends, do some programming on my computer, and I love cooking.

Q: Audiopraline`s sweetest question: Whats the most hilarious thing you have ever heard about DJs?
A: If a dj describes his job of mixing tracks together like some higher form of art, like using existing tracks to “create some sort of new symphony”.... damn that sounds so pathetic, hilarious and annoying to hear at the same time. Dj’ing is a lot of fun, and it definitely does require skills, but in the end what you’re doing is nothing more than playing the right tracks at the right moment in the right way for the right crowd, in order to make the place explode. It’s not always as easy as it sounds, but don’t make it any bigger than that, a dj is only as good as his weakest record.

Ralphie B needs no presentation for the people who are deeply involved with trance, but if you happen to hear this name for the first time, let me tell you some hints: First State, One World, first episode of ASOT and Monkey Forest- his most recognizable record. What do you think? Is he big enough? Im more than proud to welcome such a trance legend in Audiopraline.Being on a very intense producing mode recently RalphieB took time out of his busy schedule to answer my questions about his experience and ongoing projects.Enjoy reading!

Q: Hi Ralphie and thank you for agreeing to this interview! How is everything going for you lately? I heard great news for new releases, new projects of yours- is this true?

Ralphie B: Things are going really great! Indeed I have been very productive this year. My remix for Armin van Buuren "These Silent Hearts" is out a few weeks ago and last week my new single Ralphie B - Bullfrog has been released at Armada, and its doing amazing and climbing on beatport chart very quickly! Furthermore two new Ralphie B singles have been signed aswell at Armada Music. Plus I started a new project "Suncrusaders" for which the first single also has been signed by Armada. Next to this I recently remixed alltime classic Dreamcatcher - "I don't wanna lose my way" using this new project alias.So all in all it's really productive.

Q: I see you have 3 more original tracks coming out by the end of this year after Bullfrog. You have been definitely on a producing mode lately. What inspired you for this new production particularly and what feeds your creativity in general- art, nature, people?

Ralphie B: I get inspired by life itself! There is no particular inspiration source for new ideas. Though it's no secret that being happily in love with my soulmate (who is my greatest support in everything I do) and feeling good and healthy in general gives one more inspiration in whole. Also the personal request by Armin to remix his track 'These Silent Hearts ft.BT and given the fact that I joined Armada gave me a lot of new energy to produce great music.

Q: You work with three different aliases at the moment- Midway, Ralphie B and Suncrusaders. I personally find Ralphie B more melodic, Midway more energetic, but what about the Suncrusaders? What kind of production should we expect from this project?

Ralphie B: Suncrusaders is an alias for the more laidback, Balearic, "chill at the beach" sound. People might remember the track Oneworld - Lingus, which is a co-production I made in 2009. Well, with my new solo project Suncrusaders I will continue producing this kind of sound. At this moment I mainly focus on "Ralphie B" and "Suncrusaders". But who knows there will be a new Midway release in the future aswell.

Q: Obviously internet and the social networks in particular did incredible impact on EDM popularity and distribution during the last years. But doesn’t this process kill the genuine artists and bring back to the surface people who are more talented in social networking than in producing?

Ralphie B: You could be right about that. Nowadays it's indeed more than ever about promotion through social networks and networking with people in general. Having a rather big mouth works, but this is nothing new. Politics works this way aswell. I'd say mostly half the success of a track is the track itself the other half is about the promotion and market strategy. Other factors are the name of the artist, if its wellknown then success factor is higher already. Still…great tracks are great tracks and still have a good chance to come surface on top eventually.

Q: And who is your favorite producer between the new super-talented trance heroes on the scene?

Ralphie B: I like the new sounds from individuals like Arty, Jonas Stenberg, Heatbeat, Aurosonic, Norin & Rad. They have an own recognizable style and quality productions as well.

Q: Ok, now I will take you more than 10 years back in time. I was absolutely amazed to find out that your track Massive has been played in the very first episode of the legendary A State Of Trance radio show. Would you please tell us something more about that?

Ralphie B: Ralphie B- Massive was actually produced in a few days back the begin of 2001. It came out just around the time Armin was starting his radioshow. Armin was quite popular already back then, though nothing compared to nowadays. He got the promo and played it in the first episode of a State of Trance and he made it Tune of the Week in the third episode. I believe it was played three weeks in a row. He also put it on his compilation CD. I was very happy to hear my tracks on dutch Radio in this show and I'm still very proud of this gem. Massive and also Monkey Forest are two of my biggest successes mainly because they were their time far ahead and ofcourse because people like Armin van Buuren, Tiesto and Paul van Dyk supported them.

Q: You have been working with the most successful trace DJs during the years. Is there a true friendship between you and some of them?

Ralphie B: I know a lot of great producers, DJs and people in music industry, but I don't consider them as true friends though. Still it's nice to have personal connections with the neccesary people accordingly. I like the Armada crew. Positive and very innovative people.

Q: And finally Audiopraline`s sweetest question: What is the funniest moment of your career as a DJ and do you have nightmares in the likes of being late for a gig?

Ralphie B: It's pretty funny to know that my debut as a DJ ever was playing after DJ Tiesto in the Escape in Amsterdam, one of the biggest clubs ever. Can you imagine how huge was that considering that I never played anywhere else before besides in my bedroom and then the instant leap into playing right after the (back then) #1 DJ in the World. No real nightmares about being late for gigs yet though :-)

Q: Hi Ruud and thank you for agreeing to this interview! Really happy to have you on Audiopraline not only because I really have a special attitude to your production but also as long as I google right, there is no Radion 6 interview published in the net so far, is this correct?

A: Hello Yana, nice to have an interview with you! No, until now there is no interview yet, because I decided to start the act since the spring of 2011 so nobody knew who Radion6 is. So you will be the first one who will have an interview with me :)

Q: That`s absolutely amazing, feel blessed about it! Who introduced you to the world of electronic music? Tell us, please your story as a producer? And what is in common between Radion 6 and the legendary 4 Strings project?

A: I’m already for a long time addicted to music, since my childhood. I started dj-ing in the late 90’s and since 2008 I started to test my producing skills. My first track was released in 2009 on Spinnin’ Records. My connection with 4 Strings is that Carlo is a good friend of mine. He assisted me in the studio in the beginning and he still does sometimes.

Q: Tell us something about your childhood. Have you been raised surrounded by EDM sound or you discovered it by yourself? Which song or artist did you favorite first, do you remember?

A: I was a young guy who loved music from his first day on the Earth. My parents told me that when I was very young I have always tried to be around the radio and play music since age of three. Then I became a fan of house music and techno. I liked 2 Unlimited when Ray and Anita were still on the scene. So I think I am a big fan of EDM since my early age. Tiësto was the first dj I followed since 1996 I believe.

Q: What is the attitude in Holland to all this huge amount of DJs and producers? Is it a big deal to release a track or remix or its just something ordinary considering all young people who are obviously raised with the EDM sound and since early age they learn how to play with it?

A: Let me tell you- the first time I started dj-ing at the age of 16, almost nobody was dj-ing. Since I decided to start the act of Radion6 nowadays it is much more difficult to get back in the scene again, because today there are 300.001 DJs. So you need to be different and unique- this is the only chance to come up with successful production, hoping to have a hit like Tim Berg for example, with his track Bromance he became a star. But it is not just here in the Netherlands that we have a lot of DJs and producers. It depends also on what genre is played on festivals and clubs.

Q: Would you please describe the club culture in Holland, particularly in Amsterdam and the other cities? What is the audience like, apparently very spoiled?

A: At the moment the scene is directed more to dub step and Dutch house or Dirty house. It’s the style which artists in the likes of Chucky and Afrojack are making music at the moment.The people are spoiled over here cause every week we have a festival or big event in some clubs with lots of DJs, so people need to choose where they want to go. It is a hard business for the clubs and festivals to get enough people to come to their parties because we can choose between many.

Q: Do you actually DJ or you stick to the studio work?

A: I want to start dj-ing as well but also to continue my work in the studio. So you will still have my own production to enjoy but also hopefully you will find me soon somewhere nearby to hear my live sets and my guest mixes on the radio stations as well.

Q: Tell us about your collabs with Sied van Riel? How do you guys found each other producing music together?

A: Sied van Riel releases his productions on Spinnin’ Records, which is my label too, so our A&R suggested a collaboration between us.

Q: Quite busy in the studio lately, great number of very successful releases for the last year. What to expect from Radion 6 this summer?

A: First of all thanks for the nice complement! You can expect the new remix of Sunrise on the 25^th of July and on the 25^th of August you will hear a new remix called Wonderfooled for my two friends Shato and Rockseek. Later this year I expect the release of my own original track as well, called “Beautiful People” but no idea when is the release date. A lot of new tracks to come up with soon :))

Q: By the way Stuck in Rio is my favorite Radion 6 track, reminds me of a nature, science, Discovery Channel don’t know why J What is your fave track from you own production? Is there a really special one for you?

A: Not really, I love working on every new track. Because for me producing is a passion and emotion and with every new track I try to find a better way to express them. So I always try to improve my sound each time.

Q: And finally Audiopraline`s sweetest question: Are you a sports fan and if yes, whats you favorite sport club or athlete?

A: Hehe nice question. I love sports. At the moment I play tennis myself (if I have time). But I don’t really have a favorite sport. I like to watch soccer, tennis, Formula 1 and much more. So I like very different sports and every sport has its unique athletes who can catch my interest or become inspiration for me. For example the technique of Messi or the way Federer designs his strategy during a final. It is beautiful to see what we humans can doJ I must say: I have a favorite club since my youth and it is still AC Milan. If I have time to watch them playing. But nowadays I’m very busy, so missing a lot!

I didnt believe this but now I presume that the second Thoughts Become Things Dakota project may appear to be better than the first one. Very deep, multi leveled production which takes time to be taken in. If one sounds easy and familiar, wouldnt make an impact. I know I would listen this album hundreds of times. This super class quality wont fade soon.

Its been amazing 2 years and a half for the 19 year old Andi from Bulgaria, who walked the way out from a teen astonished by the electronic sound, to podcats Dj with amazing marketing success (yes, the artists must know how to sell themselves in the deep ocean of production!) and great number of listeners. Gradually with small but steady steps, Andski came up with some spot on mash-ups which will remain in the history of trance (e.g.,Full Focus Comes Again), for being played countless times on BBC Radio1, just to find himself here and now with his well deserved first release on Pulsar Recordings, out on Beatport today, June 20, 2011. Q: Hello Andski! Thank you for agreeing to this interview! It’s a great honor to have you here!

A: No worries! It’s great to speak with you. Thanks for having me on Audiopraline.

Q: First of all, congratulations for your first released track ‘Hidden’! It’s such a big success and I’m so happy about you! I know it’s a trivial question but I have to ask you this - how do you feel about it?

A: To say I’m “excited” will be an understatement. I’m really curious about what people will say about it. I already sent a demo of the original to some of my buddies - Wezz Devall, Giuseppe Ottaviani & Lee Osborne and they all had positive feedback for me. The feeling is really amazing and I believe I reached a milestone in my life.

Q: Is this actually the first track you created? What is the history behind this release in short?

A: No. It is the third track I have done. I have to say the history behind it is like with any other. Send it to a label; get reaction, sign contract and release.

Q: It’s such a nice name for a first track, reminds of a hidden treasure or hidden talent - how did you come up with it?

A: In the beginning of the original you’ll hear parts of a melody playing behind the beats. It stays “hidden” until the breakdown comes and then it smacks you in the face.

Q: What does you family think about your music and ‘Hidden’ in particular?

A: They were surprised at first! It was, of course, normal because 5 years ago I never spoke to them about dance music. Then all of the sudden I turn to them and say “By the way, Judge Jules played my mashup on BBC Radio 1 last night”. They were astonished. But eventually they got used to this “hobby” and began to approve it. I received and signed the ‘Hidden’ contract on my birthday March 24^th and it was a huge celebration for me and my parents. They often brag to their friends with my achievements which makes me feel a bit awkward sometimes hahaha

Q: You have been podcasting for 2 years now, and then several very successful mash-ups came up, now you release your first original. What should be next in this row of experience? Do you make plans, set goals or just take one step at a time and enjoy it?

A: I don’t look too far into the future but I do have some goals I want to achieve. My first original will release on June 20^th and my next objective is to have a remix of mine released officially as well. After that – who knows?

Q: Tell me something more about Matt Pincer, the producer which remix of Hidden is released in a set with the original?

A: Matt has huge experience with producing high quality uplifting trance. He has loads of remixes and originals released on various labels and it’s his debut on Pulsar Recordings. The label contacted him for the remix and he gladly agreed. I’m remixing his track “Emotions” so it’s kind of a remix for remix swap. I’ve talked with him a bit on Twitter and he seems like a nice guy.

Andski

Q: Ok, enough for Andski, lets talk about Andy now! You just graduated from high school, right? What comes next for you?

A: Next is college! I’ll be studying Computer Networking in Boston’s Wentworth Institute of Technology and I’m very excited. I’ll spend this summer in Bulgaria before I depart for the States. Going out with friends, partying around and producing are in my schedule. I’ll try to make 3-4 new Andski originals in the summer and release them over my freshman year. I doubt I’ll have time to make music along with my other tasks as a student.

Q: What do you do when you don’t produce or mix for your show? Any other ‘Hidden’ talents or passions?

A: I participated in some high school theater plays over the years. “Lets dance blues” in Bulgarian and “El aprendiz de amante” in Spanish. Also, I adore playing/watching tennis & volleyball in my free time. Jogging is also in my list of hobbies. For 3 years I was a Rotary (voluntary organization) member and for about 2 years I did hip hop and break dancing. I’m a pretty versatile person, I guess.

Q: Are you ready to cope with the fans and the increased interest in your personality? And honestly, do the girls behave any different when you introduce yourself to them as a DJ and producer?

A: All will come in time and hopefully I will get used to having more fans of my work. Regarding the girls haha I am not sure. Most of them awe when I tell them I am a DJ & producer. I don’t think a lot of people out there do what I do and it’s strange for some girls to encounter someone like me.

Q: Do wishes and dreams come true?

A: Some wishes can come true however they require action on your part. You must work very hard for them. With determination and perseverance you will achieve your dreams. This is me speaking of personal experience.

Q: And finally Audiopraline`s sweetest question: Tell us about your first DJ gig, please! How would you rate it now and what did you screw up?

A: Haha I’m not sure how you guessed that there was a screw up. On my first gig in a club I played on a really old MacBook G4 laptop with a mixer attached. When I say it was very old – it was very very old and slow, as well! The music on Ableton stopped twice during my 3 hour set because of crazy CPU over usage. There were two gaps in my mix for 10 seconds each which seemed like eternity to me. I’m glad the crowd didn’t give me a hard time. In the end of my set I had an encore. Around 50 people screamed “Andski Andski” so I stepped up for another 15 minutes. It felt amazing.

Ok, my dear, Im starting a new sequence today with the idea to put together in a pretty refined collection all radioshows and podcasts I follow and subscribe. As always I start with the ambition to select and recommend only the quality stuff released every day, like I do with the artists, labels, etc. Also I will take a good care to publish links to all new episodes on time.

As we all know not every DJ is a great producer and not every producer is a great DJ, so the podcasts and the radioshows become yet another challenge for the artists- what to select, how to mix and present the tracks etc. Many people all over the world dont have the opportunity to follow their favorite DJ`s live for various reasons. Fortunately the podcast becomes a very easy, cheap and powerful instrument for all producers to keep their fans updated with the latest hot production, live sets and news. For me these are the perfect radioshow components which could guarantee success.

I hope you enjoy my suggestions and find them useful!

Q: Hi Paul! Welcome to Audiopraline`s world and thank you for agreeing to this interview! How is life treating you lately?
Paul: Hi Yana, my pleasure. I'm feeling well at the moment because i have the chance to work on my own album and i have lots of ideas and plans for the future!

Q: You are the youngest tech producer I have ever met. How and when did you fall in love with this genre and how come you are such a great, mature producer at this age?
Paul: I started music making in the age of 12 when other guys were on the playgroud i was making music on my computer.
I made a lot of tracks in other genres but Tech-House is the style where i can show people what i feel really.

Q: How long did it take you to master your producer`s skills? What program do you use and do you have any special studio equipment or all the magic happens on the lap top?
Paul: It took me quite a lot time (I think around 5-6 years). I am in house music since the end of 2009 and the modification was absolutely hard from the old genre!Everything comes from my computer and from my brain, I think if you have enough intent these are the best equipment. I use FL Studio with Acid pro, both programs are amazing!

Q: Now lets talk about the DJ`s and producers who inspired you and who are your top producers up to date?
Paul: To be honest lot of artist inspired me but the real inspiring thing was a dream about a successfull life. At the moment i really like tracks from Jay Lumen (he is hungarian too), Nic Fanciulli, Joris Voorn,
Dj PP, Hermanez, Dj Wady, Kaiserdisco. Avicii, Dj Chus, David Penn, David Herrero and others!

Q: Do you perform live?
Paul: Not yet, from this summer on I will definitely do!

Q: There are so many young producers lately who come up with great new stuff and really find it hard to sign with established labels to release their tracks like you did. What would you advice them?
Paul: The point is that you need to collect all labels that release tracks in the style of your track because an electro-house oriented record label won't release your techno track (just for example).
You need to "double"check your track before you send out to labels and you also need to ask yourself the question "is this music good enough for an official release?"

Q: Alright, what does your family and homies think about your music? Are they big fans or they just take you as you are in your daily life?
Paul: My family was patient when I practiced. They do not really like these kind of styles but they know that this is really important to me and they see day by day that I'm happy when I get good feedback and rewards.

Q: What do you do when you don’t mix or produce? Any hobbies, sport, hanging out with friends probably?
Paul: I really like to play football with my friends, to relax, to go out and have fun and of course to sleep. Unfortunately, I can't sleep as much as I want to!

Q: And finally Audiopraline`s sweetest question: You have a cat right! I have noticed that all cool DJs around have one. What do you think? Any other pets in your house?
Paul: Yes I have a cat! Love him, his name is Gyorgy. All big DJs play their music to their pets and they never get negative critics I can assure ;)

Alright, its been a long time since I presented the last EDM Sweetheart and I was just about to get worried, when I discovered this massive found! The 18 years old Hungarian Paul Strive literally produces the perfect tech house sound- solid but yet soft and velvet bassline and "hands up in the air" breakdowns. What else would you ask for? Awesome!

And talking about his production, I cant hide how impressed I am with Paul`s DJ skills and taste of music. This mix here is a pure virtual enegry booster! I would listen one of those two times every day:))

Im following this producer for a while and I was on a stand by expecting a boom to share with you. Well, its not exactly a boom- he is not that type of artists. Its more like a lava. What a music lover must know about Jeremy?

Second: Jeremy has an attitude! :)) A while ago I read an interview with him and I was absolutely stunned to know what is spinning in his head instead of behaving nice and sweet for the audience. He is defo not the random, mainstream someone. He is intelligent, high class producer who knows what it takes to become a world wide famous DJ: huge amount of hard work and compromises with personal life including lonely mornings in front TV in a cheap hotel room.

Alright, for everyone who knows me, its pretty clear that I love Glenn Morrison as a producer, DJ and a very kind and intelligent young man. He is usually known as the nerd of producing etc. and I never thought I would find someone even close to his class- but here it happens. This young man here- again North American, Chicago based producer with real name David Spacek, made the revolution. Bigger nerd than Glenn Morrison, increddible touch in every production, crazy unhuman skills and knowledge- thats the perfect electronic producer. Dear friends, I talk about Decimal. Just check out this interview and then the Soundcloud preview of his album Lost In A Dark Place. Very high class production.

Ladies and Gentlemen, its a great plasure and honour for me to present one of the biggest and most popular producers on the trance scene at the moment- Mike Foyle in a big and very emotional interview for Audiopraline!

His tracks Deadly Nightshade, Shades of Red and Headrush dont need to be presented, being featured in the top DJs tracklists and compilations, such as Markus Schulz and Armin van Buuren. Also known with his alias Statica, Mike is gaining more and more popularity with every track or remix he releases. The last gem- Markus Schulz` s Alpha State remix. What a tune! Q: Hi Mike! Welcome to Audiopraline and thank you very much for agreeing to this interview! You were on a vacation in Bulgaria skiing recently, weren`t you? How was it, did you enjoy it?

M: I had a fantastic time in Bulgaria! The magical combination of warm sun and fluffy snow was a winning formula and we had a fantastic time. Also had the chance to check out some traditional Bulgarian music, dance and food which was very refreshing. I'm sad to be home now :(

Q: And how does your schedule for the summer look like? Do you have any gigs planned, festivals?

M: The most exciting stuff, I'm not allowed to tell you about yet! Haha. But there is some stuff planned indeed. I've kept a couple of months free to do some traveling with my girlfriend, so it won't be my busiest summer in terms of DJing, but I'm hoping to come back form traveling feeling fresh and full of inspiration for when I continue working on my first artist album. Watch this space for more info when everything is confirmed and I can tell you all about my plans! But for now, I must keep quiet :)

Q: Sounds exciting! Is it difficult for a young DJ like you to deal with the business side of the industry? Do you have to deal with contracts, meetings etc. or you have a good management team behind?

M: When I first broke into the scene I was only 18 years old and I would say I was very naive and inexperienced when it came to business. But now I'm a little wiser and the business stuff comes much more naturally to me. I've had representatives working for me in the past for various things, but really it's just me, an accountant my DJ agent.

Q: Its obvious for everyone that your classical music education has a huge impact on your work and skills of a producer. Do you remember the earliest days playing violin and did you enjoy it or it was more kind of a tedious duty?

M: I began playing the violin when I was very young so my earliest memories are most likely lost somewhere in the depth of my subconcious! But I do have some precious memories playing my part as the leader of the Hampshire Youth Sinfonia, performing solo violin parts alongside my orchestra and performing at some amazing venues such as the Turner Sims Concert Hall in Southampton. I did sometimes gets frustrated with having to practice every day - like any young teenager, I preferred to see friends and play computer games! But my parents encouraged me to keep working hard at it and it was all worthwhile when I got to play as part of many big orchestras. It has also definitely had a big impact on the music I'm making now.

Q: Do you happen to jam very often with Mat Zo in your studio? What is in the making, must be something very special from you guys?

M: So far we have only spent a week or so in the studio together, but it's the first of many collaborations to come from me and Mat. We have already got one uplifting trance tune finished and we're already planning a second one and I'm hoping to have him down to stay again in the near future! We had a great time jamming in the studio and incidentally, he makes a great thai curry! There are many more exciting collabs coming from me this year as well. I've nearly finished one with Leon Bolier and have talked with Andy Moor about doing a couple of tracks as well in the next few of months. This year I've been more interested in working with other artists as it seems to be a great way to share techniques and learn secrets from other producers!

Q: And finally Audiopraline`s sweetest question- what gives you more adrenaline: DJ-ing in front a huge crowd or paragliding?

M: For me, paragliding isn't really about adrenaline it's about bliss! There is nothing more awe-inspiring in my experience than hanging from the sky under a glorified bedsheet! It's just about the closest that a human can get to soaring like a bird. I often found myself following gulls and falcons as they always find the thermals before I do haha. I've honestly never felt more at one with nature than when I'm floating around in the sky under my wing. DJing in front of a huge crowd is a very different kind of experience. It's like a an explosion of social interaction and shared excitement. The whole room is embracing the same experience and being the director of that experience is really something special. The entertainment business in general is so important these days and I really get a kick out of giving people a good time and making their weekend really special! So in my opinion these 2 things are not really comparable. One is about self indulgence and escape, the other is a shared social experience. Both are amazing!

The following post in Audiopraline is more than special. At this moment while I write it, I feel fery excited and grateful, but also a little sad and definitely very, very humble. Now let me tell you what its all about.

A few months ago I heard a very special 5 hours Chill Out set by DJ Orion, which was mixed for DJ Orkidea`s 23 hours new years` DJ marathon. I listened this mix many times and I explored the tracklist all the way out. Some tracks I easily found, others I didnt. But there was one, which captured my mind very deep, Softys- No More Time For Us. All my attempts to find this track in the net failed. But little by little I found who is the producer behind the alias Softys, the creator of this magical bliss. That appeared to be Niko Nyman, one of Slusnik Luna boys, mostly famous with their trance anthem Sun*.

Well, after I discovered the producer, I emailed him, asking whare I could eventually find this track to buy or to listen at least. Several weeks later I received a short email as an answer and what was my surprise to read that he, Niko, is giving No More Time For Us to me and all Audiopraline readers not only to listen but also to download free! Honestly I jumped! What a priceless gesture that is and definitely one of the most beautiful gifts I have ever recieved!

Q: When did your interest in electronic music first start? What were some of the artists that inspired you most in the beginning?

Lee: Like all of us really I got into it through clubbing, in the late 90’s and early 2000’s it was the era of the super club and that time the Trance scene was absolutely massive, I used to go out every week and see people like Armin and Tiesto and just totally became captivated by the sound. I’ve been DJ’ing for about 15 years and have been producing for 10 years. For as long as I can remember this is all I’ve ever wanted to do.

Q: Do you remember your first ever DJ gig? Were you nervous, excited, both and has your DJ style changed since then?

Lee: Of course I was nervous I think every DJ get nervous on their first gig! I got seriously thrown in the deep end and I’ll never forget it! A friend heard a demo of min and passed it on to a promoter who was running a warehouse party and asked me to play. I turned up on the night expecting to play in the small side room but I ended being taken to the main stage to play in front of 2000 people. Now that’s was scary! I think as DJ your style changes all of the time there’s so much good music out there at the moment it’s hard not too.

Q: How do you make music today? What inspires you most to compose?

Lee: On a computer! I’ve tried recording live drum loops but its pretty tough lol! We use Logic 9 at the moment and a host of different plug-ins including Sylenth, Nexus and Zebra etc. What inspires me? Well that’s an easy one, I get inspired by other producers there’s so much dedication and innovation in our scene!

Q: Which track from your repertoire do you like the most and why?

Lee: At the moment my favorite track has got to be my bootleg of DeadMau5 Raise Your Weapon, its killing it at the moment everywhere.

Q: When do you think you got your 'big break' and people started to know who Lee Osborne is? Who discovered your music, first?

Lee:Well I’ve been producing for our 10 years and releasing on labels such as 5AM and Ali’s label Tekelec but it wasn’t really until I released Eight on Mondo Records and my official remix Marco’s Automanual that everything started to really kick off.

Q: Three essential top tips or advice, that every upcoming artist needs to know about the music industry?

Lee: 1. When Dj’ing week in week you need to have nimble fingers find a good moisturizer, I prefer the Vaseline but any own brand can do.

2.Don’t stop believing hold on to that feeling! Keep on heavy breathing.

3.Desperados lots of Desperados beers, and baths with Yankee candles sorry shameless plug I’m sponsored by them.

Q: Have you got any planned projects in 2011 that you could share with Audiopraline?

Lee: I’m working on Osborne Live. Which comprises of me playing piano’s whilst mixing with my shirt off.

Glenn and Orkidea always move forward together. Have a listen of this truly untypical mix of the Finnish DJ and producer Orkidea, who always surprises me with new sound in his monthly radio show on Afterhours.FM. I bet he is Aries- always in a search of new challenges. His short advice before you press play: "Listen the mix with an open mind!"

Glenn- skipping the hot fuss phase about it, he posted two new tracks on GM Soundcloud page: Twilight and Green Valley. The first one definitely needs a second touch to proceed the main idea. A proggy touch maybe. Green valley- typical Glenn Morrison house sound with a little cold and serious feeling involved, but yes, I like it. Reminds me of a winter night, snowfall and street lightning. Its good. I wish he could produce more of these underground tracks.

This year the legendary show A State of Trance celebrates its 10th birthday in a truly impressive way. With 5 spectacular live shows, in 5 different countries, on 5 continents, 5 weeks in a row, about 50 DJs from around the world will set up together probably the largest event in the world of electronic music ever organized.

The history: On May 18, 2001, Armin van Buuren, a very promising young DJ, who released his first productions as Rising Star, (with that name, as if he determines his own fate himself as one of the biggest names in the music industry in general) broadcasts a pilot radio show A State of Trance, for the Dutch ID & T Radio. Officially the first episode is aired two weeks later on June 1, 2001, featuring tracks from the likes of Armin himself, Rank1, Blanc and Jones.

Over the next 10 years the show reaches a level of popularity unsurpassed so far in the history of electronic music , and today it has about 15 million listeners in 26 countries and has become a philosophy for its fans and a measure of success for all trance DJs and producers around the globe. The credit for this incredible success goes to Armin van Buuren himself, a man with great charisma and management skills, who transformed his radio show into an institution and his label Armada into an empire.

Every spring ASOT airs its every 50th episode and from episode100 up until now, Armin organizes incredible parties and live shows dedicated to the anniversary edition. This year the legendary radio show will broadcast its 500th episode and the peak of the celebrations will be on 9th April in the Netherlands.

I personally follow these spectacular live performances ever since episode 350, aired May, 2008 and from then on, every year I look forward eagerly to another A State of Trance round episode celebration, where the most popular trance DJs from around the world perform live at memorable parties, broadcasted directly on Digitally Imported. This is the radio streaming first of all the new ASOT episodes every Thursday.

This year Armin surpasses himself and organizes the largest event in the world of electronic music ever . It includes 5 shows on 5 continents in the cities of Johannesburg, South Africa; Miami, USA, (the show is part of WMC 2011); Buenos Aires, Argentina; Den Bosch, Netherlands; Sydney, Australia.

Ladies and Gentlemen, with great pleasure I`d like to present the second interview I did for my newest and most challenging sequence in Audiopraline- The Special Interviews.
My guest this time is from Romania and he is as kind and generous as one can be. His progressive tracks are banging the scenes for several years now and that seems only the beginning of a remarkable presence in the world of electronic music. For my guest, the wizard DJ and producer, Markus Schulz says: "I dont think there has been a live set in the last 2 years, when I havent featured one of his tracks." Isnt that impressive?

Ladies and Gentlemen,it`s a great honour for me to present Mr. Pit! I hope you enjoy the conversation!

Q: Hi Adrian! Welcome to Audiopraline`s world and thank you so much for agreeing to this interview! How did you actually started DJing and producing? Who inspired you then and who or what inspires you today?

A: Hi Yana and thanks for having me for this interview. Well, I think 99% of EDM producers have started doing music due to their love for the music. It happend in 96 when I started to play with sounds as hobby then I took it more serious when I realized that I can come with something personal. Listening to music I was figuring out how music layers have been done, what musical instruments were used in tracks, you know, kind of visualizing music. I was always inspired by diversity, sometimes my mood is the inspiration for the sounds. I made my stage debut back in 2003 at the biggest Romanian EDM event at the time TM Base. I sent them a demo as I was playing live with keyboards, synths and stuff like that, they liked it and invited me to make a performance at the event. I was so proud playing in front of ~1500 ppl for my first ever gig. I started Dj-ing since 2007 with small local gigs, since then I got gig requests due to the fact music lovers wanted to hear my music.

Q: As we all know Markus Schulz announced your track Sky Traffic for best tune of 2010, congratulations about that! Tell us, please how does it feel to be his most favorite producer?

A: Thank you! There is no doubt, that was a big honor for me being nominated for the second time by Markus Schulz, first time as the breakthrough dj in 2008 then as the favorite track producer in 2010. Markus is one of my favorite dj/producers in the industry so I'd say the "chemistry" works very well. Nevertheless him and Coldharbour staff really helped me to have my productions noticed by huge audience, I'm really thankful.

Q: You are between the most productive DJs and artists in the world, have you got any planned projects you would share with us?

A: Thank you for including me in that cathegory of producers, actually I'm just doing my job trying to get best sounds to music lovers. As you might know, I work under different monikers, as Mr. Pit you might expect new energetic club tracks in the near future, as well as under my real name I'm preparing a collaboration with the legendary producer Mike Dierickx known as M.I.K.E./Push. Last but not least, few remixes for some of the biggest names in the industry are in progress, hopefully we will reveal them soon.

Fan Q, Sherry Bhullar, Canada: Many fans of online communities have remarked on the clever names and often thought-provoking phrases you give to your productions. Does each track title have a personal story behind it?

A: Sometimes I try to associate the title of the track with the mood it induces, sometimes I feel the track is just for fun and I give a propper name, music is fun and entertainment, people should not forget this!

Q: So many young producers all over the world sprig up lately, most of them really talented and devoted to DJing and producing. What would you, Mr. Pit advice them? Any tips, suggestions?

A: Oh, I'm not sure I'm the right person to be asked about this, but there are few things for young producers or newcomers that should be followed as the first steps into music industry. Besides working hard is a must follow advice, I believe that the best advice could be given is: let the history be written itself, don't push it!

Q: What is your most memorable gig so far and have you ever been invited to play in Bulgaria?

A: This is one of questions I try to avoid. Any gig is special in its own way due to location, time, crowd, weather, all gigs are memorable, If a gig isn't memorable, you shouldn't have been there... I would love to play in Bulgaria our neighbour country, unfortunately never played there before.

Q: Hopefully thats pretty soon is going to change! And finally Audiopraline`s sweetest question: what is your favorite dessert and do you love to dance?

A: Thanks for this one, I love desserts, fruits, sweets, cakes whatever they all make our life more beautiful! I love dancing, but what I do is calling "body moving" instead of dance ! :)

This spring is going to burst into spectacular festival of albums and compilations selected and mixed by the top trance DJ in the world.

Firs and foremost, the expectant father Armin van Buuren launches another A State of Trance year selection in two CDs. The first one traditionally has a clubby sound, while the second has a little more relaxed, daylight vibes.
More details and full tracklist you can find here.

Another album I expect with huge excitement is Anjunabeats Worldwide 03 mixed by "the Russian prodigy Arty" (and Audiopaline EDM Sweetheart!) and Daniel Kandi. To be honest I am not sure exactly what to expect, the tracklist is still to be announced, but if its Arty`s work I presume its going to be at least captivating.

About John O`Callaghan third (!!!) artist album, I already dropped a line. Here you can explore information about this amazing trance DJ and producer- huge respect!
